Anyone Can Build or Join a Team
INGAGE welcomes all who have an interest in sharing their passion, experience, and skills in a cross-cultural setting. Educators, business leaders, students, healthcare professionals, church groups and families have all participated in INGAGE teams.
INGAGE trips focus on building relationships between people, targeted professional development that meets the needs of people and their communities, and self-discovery
INGAGE teams learn about the culture, country, and community they are going to visit. Education teams work together to create workshops that meet the expressed needs of teachers. While in the field, team members work side by side with teachers, forming meaningful relationships as they share teaching stories and strategies. Learning together; we explore ways to impact classrooms, children and communities based on the specific needs of local schools and teachers.
“Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.” (Nelson Mandela) You can make a lasting impact! Broaden your perspective of the world, bring ideas back to your own classroom, and polish your professional skills as you explore a new culture!
Team members work together to create responsive leadership training and coaching that meets the expressed needs of a community. As team members recognize the potential of powerful leaders to initiate change and empower communities to grow, they often form enduring contacts and friendships. Positive change is only possible through the commitment of local leaders.
You can “Be the change you want to see in the world.” (Gandhi) Help to build tomorrow’s leaders.
Team members plan community health outreach programs to meet the needs of a community that has little access to health care or accurate information about healthy practices. These teams set up temporary clinics and provide resources, training and information to help communities get and stay healthy.
“He who has health, has hope; and he who has hope, has everything.” (Thomas Carlyle) Without health, there is no energy to learn and improve one’s community. Be part of a team that brings hope to a community!
Train and Plan
Once accepted on a team and/or the team is formed, participate in 4-5 cross-cultural training and workshop development sessions. During these interactive meetings, team members learn about the global partner and the specific needs of the people they will be working alongside in the field. Together the team develops engaging workshops to address these identified needs. The sessions are arranged by the team leaders and based on the availability of the team members.
INGAGE plans all travel details. The trip cost includes airfare, lodging in a hotel or guest house, travel insurance, field expenses, training materials and meals (excluding airport meals while in transit).
Trips are fully self-funded. Team members can raise funds to pay for their trip or cover their own trip expenses. Many teams hold fundraisers to help defray the costs. Each team member receives a donor page on our website where tax-deductible donations can be made. Donors will receive a confirmation of their contribution.
